Baseball is back!  How I love it!  Here are a few pictures from the Diamondback’s home opener on Monday…there are more on our other camera, but I haven’t uploaded those yet.

Oh darn. I tried to think of a interesting/clever/witty title, I did, but by gosh I am just so excited I can’t hold it in.

Psst, did yah know… Eckstein is a devout Catholic. So…he can get to work on converting Chris Young for me. Ahh, it’s a good day. :)

Smashed Man Walking

with 4 comments

Dear Alain,

Thank you for having the nerve to say, [regarding us, the USA men's swimming relay team] “The Americans? We will smash them.”

Without you, there is a chance we might have lost. You gave us that extra punch in the gut, that extra fire in the belly to turn in a world record time of 3:08.24, and beat you and your teamates by eight hundreths of a second.

Thank you for giving us all the more reason to scream and hug and scream again. Thank you for giving the reporters an angle to shoot their questions from.

Thank you for thinking you would smash us – it made our smashing of you all the more enjoyable.

Please work on something equally arrogant and presumptuous for the next Olympics.

Till then,
Michael Phelps, Garrett Webber-Gale, Cullen Jones, and Jason Lezak

*Sigh of Relief*

In this post I lamented the possibility of a certain BIG change taking place on the Diamondback’s roster.

Thankfully, it was all bogus. ThankyougraciousGod. Amen.

Oh, and did anyone catch the All Star game?! If you’re a American League fan–don’t even talk to me, but I will comiserate with any National Leaguer. Especially Brandon Webb, Dan Haren, or Albert Pujols. Or, you know…all three of them. :D
